May 27th, 2008 by Jam

Have you recently decided that you would like to make an appointment at one of your local day spas? If you have, you should know that you do have a number of different options. Even if you have your heart set on something in particular, like a full body massage, there are still a number of reasons why you should examine day spa packages. In fact, five reasons why are highlighted below for your convenience.

1 – The Perfect Combination of Treatments
Although you will find some variances, you will likely see that day spas are careful with the packages that they offer. Most often, they are, literally, the perfect combination of procedures and services. This combination will work to provide you with the ultimate level of relaxation, beauty, and pampering.

As previously stated, you will find some variances, but there are a number of popular packages. One of those packages is for that of massages. In addition to receiving a traditional massage, you may also get a massage with hot stones, a facial mask, or aromatherapy towels. Body wrap spa packages are also popular. You may find the main service to be a full body herbal or mud wrap, but side services may include an exfoliating scrub, the application of bronze tanner, and trimmed fingernails and toenails.

2 – The Options You Have

As highlighted above, you often have a number of different options, when looking to purchase a spa gift package. On average, a day spa should have at least five different packages for you to choose from. When making your choice, you will want to choose a package that you can afford, but also one that you can benefit from owning. If your feet are sore, dry, or cracked, examine packages that include pedicures or foot treatments, and so forth.

Although not as common, you may also have the ability to create your own spa package. In this instance, you may be provided with three main categories. You should have the ability to choose one service from each of those categories, like a massage, body wrap, facial scrub, foot treatment, and the application of moisturizer or bronze tanner.

3 – A Discount
Although there are no guarantees, you will typically find that you are provided with a discount when purchasing a spa package. Although this discount may be small, like only around $5 or $10, you may still enjoy the ability the save money.

To make sure that you are receiving a good deal, examine the individual components of your spa package and their costs. Compare the total to that of your package. Never pay more for a spa package than you need to, especially if you could get the individual treatments for a cheaper price.

4 – The Ultimate Level of Pampering
Since spa packages typically include three or more spa services, you are able to receive the ultimate level of pampering and often at a discounted price. You may also find extra, complimentary services included in a spa package. For example, after a body wrap, you may receive a complimentary application of bronze tanner or a special moisturizing cream. See if your local spas offer any extra, complimentary services with the purchase of a package.

5 – An Extended Break
For many men and women, they don’t want to leave a day spa once they arrive. Many love the pampering, but also the calm, peaceful, and relaxing environment. If you are or think that you may be one of those individuals, a spa package may be perfect for you. Why? Because you get to spend more time there. Although you will find some variances, most spa packages require a stay of at least two or three hours. If you were to opt for an individual procedure, like a massage or a facial, you could be in and out and under an hour.

As highlighted above, there are a number of reasons why you should at least examine spa packages. Since most day spas and salons do offer them, see what is available to you today.

4 Tips for Planning a Girls Trip to a Day Spa

May 27th, 2008 by Jam

Are you recently decided that you and some of your friends could use some quality time together? If you have, you may want to consider planning a girls’ day at the spa. After speaking it over with a few of your close friends, there is a good chance that everyone will agree that it is a great idea!

A nice as it is to hear that you can plan a girls’ trip to a day spa, you may be curious about making the plans. This may be particularly true if you have never visited a day spa before. For tips on how you can plan for your upcoming girls’ trip to the spa, please continue reading on

1 – Examine All of Your Options

Examining all of your options is important. No matter where you live, you should have at least a couple of day spas within the surrounding area. For starters, be sure to find a spa that can accommodate to you and your group. If you have more ten girls, you may be required to arrange a private party, as opposed to a traditional day spa visit.

It is also advised that you examine spa services offered as well. If you are looking for the largest selection of treatments, examine establishments that double as both salons and day spas. Here, you may be able to get a haircut followed by a relaxing massage with your friends. If any members in your group are on a budget, examine day spas with affordable rates.

2 – Know Who Will Be Going…For Sure

Before making your reservations or appointments at a day spa, it is important that you have an exact total of those who will be going. There are some upscale day spas that require you to cancel your reservations within four-eight hours of your scheduled visit. If you cannot, you may be responsible for a late cancellation fee or you may still be charged for the whole session! That is why it is important to not count on those who are still saying “maybe.” If you must, add their names to the reservation list later.

3 – Examine Spa Packages

Most day spas offer guests a large number of packages. These packages often provide you with a full day or at least a half day worth of treatment. In addition to having everyone in your group pick out their own individual packages, you can also inquire about group packages or group rates. Some day spas have been known to offer them. Everyone in your group could receive something like a massage, facial, and body wrap all for one large price, which your group can then spilt the cost of.

4 – Be Sure to Have Fun

Most importantly, it is important to remember to have fun. You and your friends will want to be able to sit back and relax. Encourage everyone in your group to leave the “real world” and all of the stresses and demands that are associated with it at home. A girls’ day at the spa should be about receiving some much needed rest, relaxation, and pampering, together as friends.

As a reminder, be sure to make your day spa appointments or reservations well in advance. It is best to aim for two weeks ahead of time. Depending on the size of your group, special arrangements may need to be made.
